What is Vipassana meditation training in Japan?
What is Vipassana meditation training? Vipassana Meditation was created by Buddha. It’s an ancient technique of meditation established about 2600years ago.
According to the examination you can expect reduce your brain’s oxygen consumption more than sleep. It mean much better to relax than sleep.
I trained to do Vipassana meditation in Japan. There are two Vipassana meditation centers in Japan; one is in Kyoto and another one is in Chiba prefecture. I went to Chiba prefecture for my meditation training.

- No talking with others
- No alcohol, smoke
- No use electric devise
- No sex
- Don’t go out side
It was pretty strict

60 people joined this training: 30men and 30women. About 10 are foreigners.
Free. You don’t have to pay anything. You can donate any amount if you want.
Food Simple vegetarian dishes are prepared for the students. Fish and all kinds of meat are not allowed.
You can either stay in a tent or a room. Staying in a tent can give you more privacy, while staying in a room might be more comfortable because of the room’s temperature.
My own experience
First 4 days We learned Anapana meditation technique on our first 4 days. It is a about being mindful of your breathing. You have to observe and focus on your breathing. You may breathe through your left nostril, or your right nostril, or through both. When you exhale you might feel the air on your upper lip. You just have to be mindful of your breathing. It may sound easy, but it was really difficult to concentrate on breathing. Your mind may wonder and think of other things. You may tell yourself: What am I doing? I want to go somewhere. When your mind starts to wonder, you have to re-focus on your breathing as soon as possible. We had this kind of training for 3 and half days, almost 35 hours.
After this training we started to learn Vippassana meditation way
Move your consciousness forehead, Top of head, and spread from nose and mouth area.
You may feel some warmness, tingling, itches sensations.
One thing for sure, any type of sensation has common thing.
“It appears and disappear.”
We learned about "impermanent" from these kind of sensations.
If you are improved, you can feel some sensation where you just conscious area very quickly.
After 10 days we felt really improve to realize sensation.
